In order to fully understand Ezelap, one needs to understand how their models work and what coarseness of diamond you require.
The coarseness of the diamond is measured in Grit. The lower the number the more abrasive.
In Ezelap you will find the model number eg 71 followed by the coarseness.
EG) 71XC = Model 71 Extra Couse, Model 71C = 71 Coarse, Model 71M for Model 71 Medium, Model 7F = Model 71 Fine and Model 71SF = Model 71 Super Fine.
The most abrasive Extra Coarse (XC) will remove metal fast in Ezelap that means it is 150 Grit.
The next most abrasive Coarse ( C ). That means 250 Grit. It will also remove metal fast but not as quickly as the XC. The Coarse is generally used on implements such as axes, shovels, garden tools, industrial shop tools and de-burring application.
The next most abrasive Medium (M) Which means 400 Grit. When your job requires a surface that will sharpen quickly, but still leave a high quality finish.
The next and most common Fine (F) that means 600 Grit. Most people will use a Fine grit industrial diamond to sharpen a knife. In fact for Ezelap suggest that for about 98% of applications, fine is the grit that best suits. This fine grit diamond has the abrasive ability to effectively sharpen a dull knife quickly and bring the edge to keen razor finish.
The least abrasive to bring out the finest of edges Super Fine (SF). That means 1200 Grit. To achieve the ultimate in a polished finish It is designed to polish and fine finish to mirror perfection. Ideally suited for woodworking and industrial application where only perfection is tolerated.
