There are 2 wheels inside the machine made of aluminium-oxide. There is a coarse wheel and a fine wheel. Both wheels have been loaded onto springs,

How the SHARPENER works: There are two spring loaded Aluminium Oxide grinding wheels (coarse and fine), which apply a controlled pressure to the blade of the knife.

Please note that this machine is a sealed unit and there are no replacement parts, however, under normal profile use, the sharpening wheels are guaranteed for life.

The grooves in each section hold the knife at a 15 degree angle giving you a perfect cutting edge, which is impossible when using a steel. The left groove in each section sharpens the right hand side of the knife and the right groove, the left side.
The knives are sharpened in the coarse section (marked 1) and polished to a razor finish in the fine section (marked 2).

Total Knife Care warrants that during the Guarantee Period, we will remedy defects in materials or workmanship free of charge either by a) repairing, or b) replacing, or c) refunding.

Nirey KE-198 Electric Knife Sharpener

User Profile: This durable appliance is designed and built to provide many years of satisfactory performance under normal household use. The intended purpose of the Nirey KE-198 is non-commercial purposes, ideally suited to household sharpening or recreational sharpening purposes.

The KE-198 is NOT designed for continuous commercial use.

The Warranty Period is two (2) years for motor and lifetime on sharpening stones.

Total Knife Care will remedy defects according to the Manufacturers Guarantee if electrical components or motor fails within set warranty period.

Exclusions and Limitations

This Guarantee does not cover:

1. a) normal wear and tear, b) defects caused by rough handling, or c) defects or damage caused by misuse contrary to intended or recommended use;

2. User manuals or replaceable sharpening abrasive belts.

This Limited Warranty is not enforceable if item: 1. Has been repaired using unauthorized spare parts; modified or repaired by unauthorized Service Centre.
